Here’s a fun bit of news that isn’t really gadget related but still deserves to be addressed. According to EstablishedMen.com, dating is now dead. Hooray! So – when is the funeral? May I throw the first shovelful of dirt onto the coffin? I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time, after all.
Unfortunately, this news is not quite what it seems. Dig a little deeper (or just read the site name) and you’ll discover that Established Men is less of a traditional “matchmaking” site and more of a golddigger’s dream come true. The site’s aim is to lure successful, wealthy men into joining. The women then declare open season on the wealthy men (women who, by the way, outnumber the men 4 to 1 on the site).
Read this excerpt from Established Men’s press release:
The results of the site’s launch were even better than anticipated with thousands of women signing up to www.EstablishedMen.com within the first week. The overwhelming response has also resulted in an unexpected dilemma for the upstart company. “We need more men!” Ms. Sinclaire explains. “Right now, there are 4 women to every man on our site. It’s typically the other way around on other dating services so this wasn’t a problem we anticipated.”
Shocking.
And so, with a heavy heart, I am forced to announce that dating is not dead. Not even close. Better luck next time (and I mean it).
