Last week, I wrote a post about why I converted to the iPhone. Reader Stuart Singer commented on the post and talked about how he was able to carry a spare battery for his Motorola E815, something that didn’t appear possible with the iPhone. Of course, it’s very possible to extend your iPhone’s battery life with an extra battery – it just isn’t the kind you’d expect.
Mophie sells a device called the Juice Pack, an external battery (1800mAh) that cradles the iPhone. Using the Juice Pack, you can essentially double your iPhone’s battery life. The Juice Pack’s power keeps the iPhone “charged”. When that runs out, your iPhone’s battery is on its own.
For those not willing to drop $100 to own one of these, there’s an easier solution – keep a charger with you at all times. I keep a charger both at home and in the car, so I’m rarely in battery trouble.
You can purchase the Juice Pack from Mophie’s web site as well as at Apple Stores.
