Confirmed: BlackBerry Storm 2

By Shawn Farner | Monday, May 4, 2009

BlackBerry StormIt’s a good day to be a BlackBerry fan.

Earlier today, it was reported that the BlackBerry Curve had overtaken the iPhone in Q1 U.S. smartphone sales, according to research done by The NPD Group.  Now it appears that Research In Motion CEO Jim Balsillie has confirmed what many suspected was in the works all along – the BlackBerry Storm 2.

The original Storm received a luke-warm reception from gadget reviewers and a lot of users were not happy with the device’s many bugs.  Hopefully, RIM has learned from their first go-round in the touchscreen world and the Storm 2 turns out to be a more solid product.

One plus? No crappy trackball.
