windows_7_graphic1Interested in putting Windows 7 through a little workout, just to see what it’s got?  Starting today, you can do just that.

Microsoft launched Windows 7 RC1 earlier this morning, allowing users interested in testing the new OS to download the ISO, burn it onto a DVD and install it on their desktop or notebook computer.  Microsoft currently has no limits on the number of downloads or product keys it will dish out, so feel free to install it on every system in the house.

Windows 7 RC1 will be available “at least through July”, so there’s no need to download and install it *today*.  Just know it’s there.  If you’re already a Windows 7 beta tester, keep in mind that RC1 requires a clean installation.  If you wish to install RC1, you’ll need to back-up your files first.  That’s the price you pay for living on the cutting edge.

I hope so! I'm looking forward to trying it out on a spare system.
