Unlike its cousin, the BlackBerry Gemini, the BlackBerry Onyx 9600 has no problem with the gizmorazzi. In fact, the Onyx is only a rumored device at this point – it hasn’t even been officially announced by Research In Motion – yet it was more than willing to pose for a few quick pictures.
As you can see, the Onyx is pretty similar to the best-selling Bold. It also appears to utilize a cursed trackball instead of an optical trackpad like the Gemini. That is one area I suggest RIM change course. Trackballs suck and I’ll shout it from a mountaintop if that’s what it takes.
As stated, there aren’t any concrete details on carrier, cost or date because the device isn’t “official” yet. There are whispers that the Onyx could end up on T-Mobile’s network, but at this point, that hasn’t been confirmed.
