Next-generation iPhone specs may have been leaked

Screen from the next iPhone... maybeWell, take a look at the iPhone screenshot to the right.  What you see could be one of two things – a cruel, cruel joke by some folks in a Chinese forum or the next-generation iPhone’s system information page.  We’re going to hope it’s the latter.

The new iPhone could be packing:

  • A 600MHz processor (up from 400 MHz)
  • 256 MB of RAM (up from 128 MB)
  • 32 GB storage drive
  • Digital compass
  • FM radio
  • 3.2 megapixel camera

So, what do you think – are these specs enough to make you drop a few hundred bucks on a new iPhone?  I’m a little mixed at this point.  There’s certainly more under the hood as far as these specs are concerned but, at this point, it would take a major overhaul for me to trade up from the iPhone 3G.

We’ll probably find out if this leak was legit once the WWDC rolls around next month.  Until then, take this photo and the leaked specs with a grain of salt.
