Lenovo’s Idea Pad S10-2, their latest Netbook is consider as an upgrade version from their previous S10.

Most features remain unchanged though, like a 1.6-GHz Atom CPU, 1 GB RAM and the 160G hard drive. A product review at Wired.com mentioned some trouble getting benchmarks to run on S10-2 as compared to S10. But generally, is still pretty much stable as before. The price though….is USD350, USD120 lesser than the previous S10 that sold for USD420.

So what will we get More for Less?

(1) Improved Battery Life of 4 Hours

Battery may look slightly oversized”, but the weight remain the same 2.7 pound, but is Power that we want for mobile computing.

(2) Backlighting to the 10.1-inch, 1024 x 600-pixel LCD.

The previous S10 do have a dim screen issue. Now this is improved.

(3) Quick-boot operating system.

Although wired.com reviewer  Christopher Null said that XP boots fast enough to make this somewhat irrelevant.

Other than that, the only issues left will be the somewhat Flaky touchpad and the “dotted” exterior design.
