DVDs remain dominant over digital downloads 1
In the war between video downloads and DVDs, the tried-and-true DVD is winning. I have to ask – is anyone surprised by that?
According to NPD Group, DVD sales and rentals account for 88% of consumer video purchases. Video on demand and digital downloads are hovering somewhere around 12%. There’s an obvious divide between digital media and physical media – either more people have the means to watch DVDs than download content, they feel more comfortable watching DVDs or both.
