Today is the first day that Verizon’s revamped global version of their GPS navigation system is available. So now you can take comfort in the fact that, even on the other side of the ocean, you have instant access to the most roundabout and indirect set of directions possible. No word yet as to whether the directory will still include only about one out of every thirty businesses in the area but we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Hot on the heels of our earlier post, it now seems that it may not be the iPhone coming to Verizon Wireless but, instead, two brand new, never before seen devices. This makes a lot of sense – Apple has an exclusivity deal with AT&T for the iPhone, so a phone for any other carrier would have to be something new (unless Apple somehow got out of the AT&T deal).

USA Today, Apple and Verizon are reportedly engaging in “high-level” talks about bringing the iPhone to Verizon’s network. It is rumored that, at this stage in the game, iPhones could be seen on Verizon as early as next year. Before you cancel your wireless plan and switch to Verizon, though, don’t count out AT&T.
